Vengeance (2022)

Image
The new movie Vengeance premiered earlier this month on Amazon Prime and select theaters. Directed, Produced, Written and Starred in by B.J. Novak , follows a New York writer who comes to find a girl he was hooking up, Abby,  had died of an opioid overdose in rural Texas. The family, under the influence that Ben (B.J. Novak) was actually her boyfriend, leaving him to fly to Texas under guilt. Upon arrival, the family is under the impression that Abby was murdered, not an OD. Ben takes this as an opportunity to make a story/podcast on finding who killed Abby. I was really looking forward to this movie premiering with not only Ryan from The Office , but Dove Cameron, and Ashton Kutcher are also in the film. It was very well done, but I have a few thoughts. Monologue galore. The entire film is basically a long monologue. A lot of words and thoughts where I felt I was watching, and then got lost and realized, wow. These people have been talking for a long freaking time. However...

Why Adam Sandler Movies are Superior

Image
Adam Sandler. I will stand here and defend that Adam Sandler movies are superior. And I will rank them right now of my top five movies of Adam Sandler. #5 Jack and Jill (2011) Jack and Jill are seriously one of the worst/best movies. I mean it is god awful but so funny to watch I have seen it so many times. The premise of the movie is simple, Adam Sandler plays both Jack and Jill, twin siblings. Jill lives alone after their deceased mother, and Jack is married and successful with a wife and kids. Jill comes and stays with Jack and the movie goes on with Al Pacino cameos, and vulgar, hilarious dialect. I would rate this movie as my number five due to how bad but good it is. Like, it is sometimes unwatchable, however, it is one of those movies you can watch and know you will laugh at. Sometimes you need one of those movies in your queue. #4 50 First Dates (2004) 50 First Dates starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star in the romantic comedy of Henry meeting his dream girl, Lucy. Lu...

Devil in Ohio

Image
Devil in Ohio Devil in Ohio premiered on Netflix earlier this month based on the novel and creator, Daria Polatin. Starring Emily Deshenael, playing the character of Mae Dodd, she escaped from a cult leaving her in the hands of a psychiatrist at a nearby hospital.  Watching the trailer got me so excited because I am a huge sucker for cult and crime documentaries. The acting in this show is… bad. However, even though it is not a documentary and more of a mystery drama, it does a good job with the suspense of the wonder of the cult. If you are interested in watching this series, I would not recommend reading as it will be filled with spoilers…Here we go! Episode one is insane. Opening scene is Mae running through a corn field covered in blood, holding a knife as she runs to find someone who can help her. As she approaches a car, she throws away the knife to stop a truck to pick her up and help. Following, we get introduced to Dr. Mathis, a psychiatrist who works with Mae the ...
