Hello!



My name is Caitlin and I am notorious for rewatching the same movie over...and over...and over again. Add one more, that's how much I rewatch movies. Me, it is hard for me to watch something new because I do not like not knowing what is going to happen. This may be anxiety based, but I have been this way for my whole life. 

The idea of comfort films hit home as for example, I have rewatched the movie "Pitch Perfect" possibly over one hundred times. The movie came out when I was in seventh grade. Everyone was in the cafeteria doing the cup song, and that movie may have been the reason for major life decisions today. The comedic timing, the music, actors, and characters for each part are so well thought out...I would argue it is one of the best movies made in the 2014 year. 

For this class, I will probably make in some eyes... the worst but best opinions on god-awful movies that I find perfect in my eyes. My movie taste according to anyone who knows me sucks. There has hardly been a movie that I have not unliked, however. Other than Cats the musical the movie. 

I am excited to see if anyone ends up agreeing with me on some opinions on films, or hates me afterward. should be interesting for sure.

    No sense of movie taste is terrible! I really like sentimental films like Dead Poets Society and Stand By Me, but I also really enjoy watching god-awful B-movies! My dad and I will literally spend weekends binging unheard of 70s/80s horror films that are absolutely horrible in their execution, but are so camp and absurd that they are entertaining! And it's one of my favorite things in the world! I think that no matter how "bad" a film is deemed, it's always perfectly fine to have loved it (though Cats may be an exception. . .). Movies, at their core, are made for enjoyment. I think as long as you're having a good time, no harm no foul.

    I don't blame you for watching the same movies over and over again. I would always watch the same movies over and over again when I was little. For me it was always the Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire. Those movies also partially helped me become the person that I am today and has a special place in my heart. I do like watching newer movies, but trust me, there is nothing wrong with sticking with the same movies because I can relate to that in a way.

    I totally understand where you're coming from with this, and you're definitely not alone! I think everyone has a "comfort movie" that they could watch endlessly, and the best part is that usually there's an explanation to it that no one else really understands. For example, mine would be Disney's Hercules because the soundtrack was so ahead of it's time, the princess is named Meg, and Disney Channel would always play it every year around my birthday. It's little "inside" things like that which make the movies as meaningful as they are to us.

    p.s. I still fangirl over Skylar Astin to this day.

  Devil in Ohio Devil in Ohio premiered on Netflix earlier this month based on the novel and creator, Daria Polatin. Starring Emily Deshenael, playing the character of Mae Dodd, she escaped from a cult leaving her in the hands of a psychiatrist at a nearby hospital.  Watching the trailer got me so excited because I am a huge sucker for cult and crime documentaries. The acting in this show is… bad. However, even though it is not a documentary and more of a mystery drama, it does a good job with the suspense of the wonder of the cult. Psycho!

  “The Shower Scene '' from the film Psycho premiered in 1960 starring Janet Leigh as Marion Crane and Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates. This particular scene is one of the most famous scenes in cinema history. Filled with jump cuts, this black and white film has the most intense point of view, and pretty bad acting but is curated super artistically. To start, the shot opens up with the toilet flushing and Marion has her back to the door while the camera moves with her to close it. She takes off her robe and walks into the shower as this is the first jump cut. She closes the shower curtain with just her silhouette showing as a foreshadowing for later in the scene. The next shot is a connecting jump cut that starts on one end and ends with her standing up to turn the shower head on. Continuing the rest of the scene is a long montage of different angles with the music intensive for when she gets stabbed. Falling for Christmas- Lindsey Lohan

Lindsey miss Lohan. Falling for Christmas has premiered on Netflix this past week starring Lindsey Lohan and Chord Overstreet. Already, this film has received an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 5.5/10 on IMBD. Lindsey Lohan has been on a hiatus for almost 10 years now making this her debut back to the big screen and I am SO excited to her in more things. Falling for Christmas is about a newly engaged heiress who gets in a horrible ski accident and develops amnesia. She ends up in a secluded lodge where she meets the new love interest. Horrible plot, but its Lindsey!!!!! The acting is bad, the graphics and movie is not great, but it is a great, classic Hallmark film to watch on a snowy day.  I remember being little and obsessed with Lindsey Lohan and everything sh was in so this is such a huge moment for me to see her again on my TV, even with her lip injections.
