How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS. PLEASE. I love this movie. I have seen it once before but I wasn't feeling well this past weekend and it seemed like the film to solve whatever was happening. Kate Hudson is just so beautiful, and Matthew McConaughey also is a good co-star for the attractive, rom com lead.

Premiering in 2003, Kate Hudson as Andie is a New York journalist writing for “Composure” as the “How to” girl, advising women how to do certain things in the modern age. Andie gets fed up with the boring writing, but needs to prove she can write well plotting the “How to date a guy in 10 days” dating Ben, Matthew McConaughey. Ben has his own agenda with a bet if he makes a girl fall in love with him in ten days to secure a spot for a diamond account in “Composure.”

There are so many romcom movies that I love, and they all have similar stories, but Kate and Matthew have such good chemistry throughout it gives me so many butterflies watching it. Throughout the scenes it has the early 2000s flare of the outfits, the quotes, the lingo and the late grain I love.

The whole point of this post however, is the yellow. Dress.

YELLOW??? This is a color I have NEVER seen in early 2000s movies. Baby blue, pink, and light neutrals are all colors that are commonly seen but yellow is such a statement and such a golden look into her. When reading in class about the male gaze over the past couple of weeks, they give such a bright light on Andie making her look so beautiful I think for a feminine gaze. The dress is so simple but elegant, and has a subtle low back, slip dress style with golden tones against her blonde hair.

I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes a classic romcom, but one that makes you fall in love with both characters. 10/10 fabulous.
